Charles Merritt Houghton
Charles Merritt Houghton an artist and industrial designer living and working in New York City. He studied Architecture, Philosophy and French at the University of Colorado at Boulder graduating with a Bachelors of Environmental Design (B.ENVD). After working at a retail Architectural Firm in Los Angeles, California, He moved to New York City to work as an Industrial Designer and an Artist.
He conceived and constructed a site specific environment at the The Gershwin Hotel, for which he shared a 2009 Bessie Award with Yanira Castro and her collaborators for dance theater piece entitled Dark Horse/Black Forest.
